Compound Adjectives and Nouns
• adjective/number + noun + -ed (eight-legged)
• adjective/adverb + past participle (well-behaved)
• adjective/adverb/noun + present participle (nice-looking)
• noun + adjective (year-long)
• adjective + noun (deep-sea).
Some Compound Nouns with hyphens have a preposition as their part: mother-in-law, brother-in-law, check-in, editor-in-chief.
